When you stray away from the route, you come up against monsters that will defeat you with one blow and I have yet to be able to run from any battle even if I try. The only down is that it seems that when you stay within the general track of where you want to travel, the monsters you fight are easy enough to defeat but, it takes forever to build up fighting them. It does seem like it takes a long time to build up stats and "Gil" to buy armor and weapons which provides hours of play time.
The graphics are as good as what I remember on the PS1 and the controls are easy enough to work. This game is pretty much as I remember it only on a slightly smaller scale.

I bought this because way back when I had a Playstation, I enjoyed the Final Fantasy series of games. Worth the money for a trip down memory lane.
